McBryde found her talent after playing her father's guitar as a teenager. In 2007, she packed up and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her dreams of becoming a country singer. After independently releasing music early in her career, she gained wider attention with her EP Jalopies & Expensive Guitars, which caught the attention of country star Eric Church and helped lead to a recording contract with Warner Music Nashville.
