SOOOOO MUCH THAT COULD HAVE BEEN

The sound was atrocious, this sound mixing was meant for Madison square gardens, not the Palace, theater. Music and vocals were a blur most of the time, and I was under no influences. This was my first time to see Joe Bonamassa, and did not know what to expect. I have been to the Palace theater on other occasions and the sound was amazing. I am so disappointed in my night that I hoped to be a memorable moment. When the instruments were not playing, the sound was okay. However, when vocals and instruments were both being utilized, the mixing was not good at all.

SOUND MIX LACKING

We were so looking forward to hearing Joe Bonamossa. Unfortunately the first three songs the base guitar overpowered all of the other instruments. The next three songs the base drums split the eardrums every fourth beat. By the seventh song we could actually hear Joe but the sound was mixed at 100% for everyone in the band so very few actual notes could be heard. What a waste of talent. We were very disappointed. The crowd was overpowered and showed it.

TOO LOUD

Wonderful talented entertainers but sound equipment was set for a big auditorium, not the charming, small Taft theater. We left early because of the distortion. Couldn’t understand the words and the loudness became very uncomfortable. We were in balcony seats.

WHO CAN TELL

One person in our party could hear the backup singers. Only because she had air buds on mute. My watch constantly warned me I was at decibel levels that were damaging my hearing. The biggest loss is no one in our group heard any lyrics accept for the one using a mute device. Dangerously criminal to our ears

JOE BONAMASSA SONY CENTRE OCT 15/2016

Enjoyable concert but disappointed Joe didn't play "any" older familiar material like Just Got Paid, Django, John Henry etc.

JOE BONAMASSA AT THE TERRACE THEATER IN LONG BEACH, CA.

11/23/18 The sound reinforcement was terrible or The Terrace Theater acoustics were terrible. The entire concert was muddy. Couldn’t hear the back up singers, the words to the songs, or the leads well. I know Joe can do better. Waste of money. Too bad. Didn’t the engineers hear this? Blahhh.

SADLY DISAPPOINTED

Would have thought the sound in the Queen E. Theater would have been better. Seemed muddy and disproportionate to the drum set. Had to struggle to hear the entirety of Joe's solos. Not sure if that is on the Bonamassa crew or the Theater crew. Was also quite disappointed in the song selection. I know new music is important to keep the train rolling. But the train began through the energy provided by those songs, such as Slow Gin, Mountain Time, John Henry, and Dust Bowl. I even thought I would hear the title song Redemption from his new album. I have been a big fan for the last 6-7 years, thanks to PBS, You Tube, and Pandora. But I only heard two songs I knew of in the 2+ hours he generously played. Although his skill and talent was definitely on full display last night, he's still the best, I left the theater sadly disappointed. Tickets cost too much anymore, and this may likely have been my one shot to see him. Maybe I can get some redemption in Red Rocks some day.
